Rev C Daniel Bennett, D.D. visited Lifeline International Ministries’ North Hollywood church on Sunday, August 12, 2012.
“Revival is not like what most people think,” the pastor said. “I was an evangelist for ten years and then a pastor for 30 years and now I’ve been an evangelist for 20 years… If you’re praying for a move of God, you’ll get one, but maybe not in the way you thought… ”
Pastor Bennett shared the following principles that show how Jesus works in the church:
God is going to work with you the way he dealt with the people at the temple when he showed up, as referenced in the following verse:
Jesus started tearing up whatever they had started doing in the church that was wrong. The first thing Jesus does to a church is he purges it. That’s the beginning of revival. First the church is purged.
Now, the following scripture explains why people leave the church:
If we say we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we tell a lie and we’re not doing the truth. When we walk in the light as He is in the light, the Bible says we have fellowship one with another. Those who leave the church quit following Jesus somewhere along the road. When a person doesn’t have fellowship with Christ, they cannot have fellowship with the body of Christ. If we have fellowship with Christ, we have fellowship with one another.
The reason people leave the church is because they are out of fellowship with Jesus.
If you don’t like your life, change it– allow God to purify you, purge you. Purging brings prayer, prayer brings power and that’s when people start getting healed.
When Jesus comes into your life and you’re truly living for Christ, you will be a man or woman of the Word. You will be a person that prays and you’ll have Holy Spirit power in you.
Jesus loves you and he wants to be the Lord of your life!
Romans 10:9-10 says:
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Are you ready to give your life to Christ? Pray this prayer with all your heart:
“Lord Jesus I come to You as I am a sinner.
I come to you in prayer asking for the forgiveness of
my sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my
heart that Jesus is Your Son, And that He died on the
Cross for me so that I might be forgiven, and have
eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Father, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now to come into my life, and be my personal Lord and Savior.
I repent of my sins, and will worship You all the days of my life!
Because Your word is truth, I confess with my mouth that I am born again, and cleansed by the blood of Jesus!
In Jesus Name, Amen.”
